- Your screen saver program has been installed into the Windows
- Desktop of the Control Panel. Accessing your screen saver is
- easy, and requires three steps as follows:
-
- I. Load the Control Panel
- II. Run the Desktop option
- III. Select your screen saver

- I. Load the Control Panel
-
- The Control Panel is generally found in the MAIN group of your
- Program Manager. To get to the Control Panel icon, double click
- the MAIN group icon. Execute the Control Panel by double clicking
- the Control Panel icon.

- If you cannot find the MAIN group or the Control Panel icon, you
- can run the Control Panel from the File Manager by double clicking
- CONTROL.EXE in your main Windows directory (usually called
- WINDOWS).

- II. Run the Desktop option

- To run the Desktop option of the Control Panel, double click the
- Desktop icon in the Control Panel.

- III. Select your screen saver

- Use the "Screen Saver" area of your Desktop screen to select your
- screen saver. The screen saver will be listed as "Northern Lights."
- You may use the Test button to preview your screen saver, and
- the Setup button to assign a password and activate / deactivate
- your mouse.

- 4. Double click Display
- 5. Click on the Tab that says "Screen Saver"
- 6. Under the drop down box called "Screen Saver" (about middle of box)
- choose "Northern Lights"

- A NOTE ON SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- *****************************

- This screen saver program is written to work with any system
- running Microsoft Windows 3.1(TM) or Windows 95(TM). For best quality
- it is suggested that you set your video display to at least 256 colors,
- with 64K being the best resolution (it will work under 16 colors
- but you may see a grainy quality to photos).

- TO CHANGE YOUR DISPLAY

- Double click the MAIN Program Group. Then double click the
- WINDOWS SETUP icon.

- If you cannot find the MAIN group or the Control Panel icon, you
- can run the Control Panel from the File Manager by double
- clicking SETUP.EXE in your main Windows directory (usually called
- WINDOWS).

- Click once on OPTIONS. Click once on CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS. A
- drop down menu box will appear. Click once on the down arrow on
- the right of DISPLAY. There will be a drop down box that has
- display options. Choose the display option that you need. Click
- OK. The system will ask you where the driver is located. If you
- do not know, We suggest that you call you dealer, but you
- should either have the drivers already installed or they will
- most likely be on a disk that came with you system or video card.
- At this point Windows asks if you would like to restart Windows.
- Restarting Windows will allow the changes you made to take effect.

- 2. Click Settings
- 3. Click Control Panel
- 4. Double click Display
- 5. Click on the Tab that says "Settings"
- 6. Under the drop down box called "Color Palette" (towards bottom left
- of box) choose either "256 color," "high color (16 bit)" or "true
- color (24 bit)," depending on the available choices.

- A NOTE ON UNINSTALLING SCREEN SAVER
- ***********************************

- You can uninstall the screen saver very easily by deleting the
- WILDLIFE directory of all its contents. However, there are some
- other files that are added to your Windows directory upon
- installation that you must also delete. They are "PGX.INI,"
- "NORT3356.INI," and "NORT3356.SCR." Deleting these files will give you
- more hard disk space and is unnecessary if the rest of files are deleted.

- If you ever decide to reinstall, you can do so by following the
- initial installation procedures.

- USING IMAGES AS WALLPAPER
- *************************

- You can use any one of the images on this CD as wallpaper. The images
- are labelled IMG01-IMG42 corresponding to the photo number. You can
- find these images as bitmaps in the WALLPAPR folder. In order to use
- an image as wallpaper, you will need to copy the image file to the
- C:\WINDOWS directory.
